Liam Callaghan – Florida
Being a Florida native, the ocean has always been the focus of Liam’s fishing endeavors. Growing up he spent a great deal of his time surfing, diving, or chunking big baits off the local piers and jetties. As an adult, his pursuit of both inshore species and big game has grown more widespread. As a commercial fisherman in Alaska, he still found time to wet a line for King Salmon in the Prince William Sound. He later moved to the Florida Keys and spent a good deal of time chasing tarpon, sharks, and bonefish. He finally settled in The Florida Forgotten Coast where he has been tearing up big redfish tailing in shallow water and throwing large plugs at trout blowing up bait pods. As members of Hobie Fishing Team,Liam and his brother Jason operate a fishing school and guide service that caters to all skill levels in the Forgotten Coast.

I was interested in buying a some christmas gifts and want to know what are a good reel would be for a kayak fisherman. I would just like some advice. Should I purchase a fish finder? What are some ideas to get me started for someone who will be kayak fishing in florida’s gulf coast.
Thank you for any help you could give me.
