jd is the Southwest Florida, Regional head of Hobie Kayaks Pro Fishing Team. He is a proud member of SaltWater Assassian, Sea Claw Anchors, Hobie Polarized, Accent Paddles, and TFO Fishing Rods Pro Staffs, as well as, the Hook1 Crew.

He authors the monthly “No Motor Required” column in Coastal Angler Magazine; jd is also a contributing outdoor writer for Kayak Angler Magazine, as well as a correspondent for the Sarasota Herald Tribune. Although jd has enjoyed plenty of fishing tournamenta
success, including a win at the 2009 Calusa Blueways and several top three finishes in the IFA Kayak Series sponsored by Hobie, he better appreciates the more relaxed kayak experience and passing along his passion of kayak fishing to others. Since hanging up his skates after a 20 year semi pro hockey career, he has been tirelessly fishing the skinny water flats waters of Southwest Florida for more
than a decade. jd posses an intimate knowledge of SW Florida’s premier kayaking locations and how to maximize your time catching redfish, snook and trout.
