Doug started fishing about 25 years ago while chasing bluegill in small farm ponds with his Dad back in Ohio. After a few years, his focus and passion moved on to largemouth in the same ponds. Chasing largemouth in farm ponds, beaver ponds, and the occasional lake was his focus until college. That’s when he got the introduction to river smallies and the excitement that they provide.
Doug moved to Ranson, West Virginia over 5 years ago and began to focus primarily on river smallmouth. He lives a very short drive from both the Potomac & Shenandoah River, which provides plenty of opportunity for quality smallmouth. He has fished out of a kayak for about 3 years now, which lead him to KayakBassFishing.com.
He looks forward to every opportunity to fish with other kayak anglers and provide as much help as possible for chasing river smallmouth. He can be found as many weekends as possible on the Shenandoah or Potomac Rivers in his Tarpon 120 chasing smallmouth. He can also be found hanging out at KayakBassFishing.com sharing any information he can.
If any of you are ever in the WV panhandle and feel like chasing some smallies, give a shout
