Get Outdoors Kayak Fishing Tournament, Greensboro, NC - March 14, 2009

March 18, 2009 on 7:05 pm | In tournament | No Comments

It’s been said countless times in North Carolina.. if you don’t like the weather, wait a few hours. In this case, in a weeks span, we went from sunny with a high of 80º to solid rain with a high of 38º… perfect conditions for the 2nd Annual Get Outdoors Kayak Fishing Tournament. Thirty anglers entered this year, some as far away as Virginia Beach, VA and Charlotte, NC. Launch time was 7:30 AM and all contestants had to be inline with their score-able CPR fish by 4 PM. Despite a few frozen hind ends I believe everyone had a good time. A number of good fish were scored but none bested my 20 1/2” LM Bass, which was a surprise, I fully expected the top place to be 22” plus. Over $300 was raised to benefit The Haw River Assembly, a non-profit citizens group dedicated to restore and protect the Haw River and Jordan Lake, from raffle items. This could not have been accomplished with out the backing from these fine sponsors.

Yard Sale Results

March 2, 2009 on 6:33 pm | In Kayaks | 1 Comment

Saturday we had the 1st annual Hook 1 Fishing Yard Sale.  We had alot of sellers and a consistent stream of buyers.  I think Grego was salesman of the day bringing in a booming $700  or so …

Thanks go out to the sellers who made it a great day and to the buyers who made it a greater day !!

Thanks to Hogans Bait and Tackle Shop for helping promote the event - Hogans is located in Dana Point - (949)493-3528.

We even had our local fire department make a stop …

When they pulled up, I thought I was in trouble!  But… they came to shop.

A few more pics:

See you all next year!!
